Sie sagt ihren Namen. Ihr kleiner Körper ist durchgestreckt, sie scheint augenblicklich länger geworden zu sein. Sie schaut ernst hinter ihren roten Locken und ist erst drei Jahre alt.
Bist du sauer? – frage ich, denn der Anfall kam ganz plötzlich und ohne jeden Grund.
Nein- antwortet sie – DU bist sauer.
Ich muss lachen, denn sie hat Recht. Ein Hauch von Ärger kam in mir auf, irgendwo knapp unter der Schwelle des Bewusstseins.
Sie lacht nicht zurück. Sie schaut streng, als wäre sie plötzlich in ein unsichtbares Kampffeld geraten.

Mir fällt ein, dass sie mir, als sie noch kein Jahr alt war, mal eine Bulette gegen den Kopf geworfen hat. Einfach so, beim Mittag essen. In der Küche meiner Mutter. Die lachte und sagte. „Ich freue mich schon!“ „Worauf denn?“ – fragte ich.
Meine Mutter antworte nicht, strahlte mich nur an und hörte nicht auf zu lächeln. In mir stieg ein unangenehmes Gefühl hoch, Erinnerungen, Szenen die ich immer als meine Heldengeschichten betrachtet und stolz herumerzählt habe.
Es ist passiert, dass ich meine Mutter geschubst und durch die Wohnung verfolgt habe. Ich schlug ihr mehrmals auf den Nacken und brüllte dabei. Ich habe sie mit jeder Schwäche aufs schärfste konfrontiert, habe ihr die Salatschüssel über den Kopf gezogen und das Radio ans Bein geworfen.
„Das ist nicht normal, du solltest dich mal behandeln lassen“ – sagte mir meine gute Freundin, eine Psychiaterin. Aber ich war mir sicher, dass es gut ist was ich tue, denn sonst hätte ich meine Mutter gehasst, den Kontakt zu ihr abgebrochen oder ich hätte früher oder später den Krebs. So aber konnte ich sie zwischen den Prügeleien immer noch lieben.
Schlechtes Gewissen hatte ich nicht, sie hat mich Gott sei dank eh immer machen lassen und war nicht zimperlich.

Die Bestätigung, auf die ich immer gewartet habe, die ich nie für Leistungen, Fähigkeiten, Qualitäten oder einfach nur für mein Sein bekam. Anerkennung kriegte ich von meiner Mutter erst für meine besonders bedrohliche Art, meine heftigen Konfrontationen, und für die Härte, mit der ich meine Kämpfe führte.
